1. ASUS TUF VG27AQ

Overall the best 1440p 144Hz monitor from every monitor that we’ve gone through is the ASUS TUF VG27AQ. It uses an IPS technology, it comes at various refresh rates starting at 144Hz, but you can also get it factory-overclocked at 155, 160 and 165Hz. The stand that this monitor comes with is pretty small, and it’s amazing because of the fact that it eliminates most wobble giving you the ability to adjust it to lots of heights and tilts. You also get the ability to swivel it in every direction. The minimal bezels that this monitor comes with allow it to be used in multi-monitor setups, and when you use it’s pretty immersive.

The display technology, unfortunately, doesn’t allow for amazing contrast ratio, and the blacks are pretty shallow, but you get great viewing angles. It gets fairly bright for most people, and it reflects light pretty good, so it makes it a good choice if you have tons of lights in your room.

The input lag it provides is good, and any fast motion looks good on the monitor. There is FreeSync included with this monitor, and this allows it an almost tear-free experience because of the variable refresh rate. Although it’s not a G-sync monitor, it is compatible with G-Sync, so the Freesync comes in handy even if you are rocking an Nvidia graphics card.

HDR is supported on this monitor, but that doesn’t mean much. Because of the fact that this monitor doesn’t support a wide range of the color gamut and its peak brightness is mediocre at best, I wouldn’t recommend it for watching HDR content. But, you can’t have your cake and eat it, the TUF VG27AQ is a fantastic gaming monitor, and if you’re in the game for a gaming monitor and want to have good HDR, then you will have to splash a lot of money on unnecessary features. The low input lag, high refresh rates, and the fact that it’s a 1440p make this one of the best 144Hz 1440p monitors.

2. The ASUS PG279QZ – A good alternative for the best 144Hz 1440p monitor g-sync

In case you own an Nvidia graphics card, then you would want to use a native G-Sync monitor. And, despite the fact that the Asus ROG PG279QZ doesn’t support HDR like its TUF counterpart, it is a great alternative if you want a native G-Sync monitor. There are also some unique features included with the Asus Swift monitor, including a blue light filter, crosshair, frame rate counter overlay, which are great for the health of your eyes. Your gaming experience will be similar to on the TUF, but it won’t get as bright as the TUF. It’s an IPS panel, so the black won’t really be black, but you will experience good viewing angles on this monitor.

In my opinion, the TUF would be a better choice, but if you must have a native G-sync monitor, then we would recommend you go with the ROG Swift.

3. LG 34GK950F-B

If you’re in the market for an ultrawide gaming monitor, then this category is all about the LG 34GK950F-B. The fact that it’s ultrawide is not the only good thing about this monitor, though. Although the fact that by having a 34 inch ultrawide is like you have one and a half 27-inch flat monitor side-by-side, this gives you a lot of real-estate to work with. With the monitor, you get a good, fairly wide stand, which gives it great height and tilts adjustments. On the monitor, you also get a good amount of I/O, including a 3.5mm jack, USB port, HDMI, DP, and more.

As many gaming monitors, the LG provides an extremely low input lag, and it has great motion handling leaving only a short blur pattern. It’s Freesync and G-sync compatible, allowing you to experience almost tear-free experience even with an NVidia graphics card. The fact that it sports an IPS panel doesn’t give it any extra points in blacks uniformity and contrast, but what it loses there it surely gets back in horizontal and vertical viewing angles.

If you’re in the game for a gaming monitor, and you need the extra real estate that the LG 34GK950F-B offers, as well as the high refresh rate and the great graphics, then you should go with this monitor. There are tons of use scenarios for the LG, including a great gaming experience!

Best 32 Inch 1440p 144Hz Monitor

4. Samsung C32HG70

In case you are trying to get a bigger monitor, or you love to play in dark rooms, the Samsung C32HG70 is the way to go. It’s a VA monitor that can offer up an amazing picture quality, with poor black uniformity, but it still is much better than the IPS monitors that we’ve mentioned in this article. You also get a better contrast ratio. It comes with a small curve making the Samsung more immersive. You get HDR with the monitor, and it displays a wide range of the color gamut. Keep in mind that you won’t be getting the HDR quality that more recent TVs offer.

You get Freesync support and G-sync compatibility on the Samsung, so you get a nearly tear-free experience. You can also turn on the black frame insertion, which will improve your motion clarity even more.

5. LG 32GK850G

• Technology: G-Sync

If you think that you would enjoy the size of the Samsung, but you own an Nvidia graphics card, then the best bet for you would be to get the LG 32GK850G-B. For the money, you get a pretty similar gaming experience, but you lose a couple of things. HDR support, the curve, and ergonomics are the things that you will have to lose for the G-sync compatibility.

Most people would have a better time with the Samsung. But if you really need the G-Sync compatibility for your Nvidia graphics card, then go with the LG, because it’s the best 1440p 144hz monitor g sync alternative.

Best Budget 1440p 144Hz Monitor

6. Dell S2417DG

If you have a lower budget, you can go with the Dell S2417DG. It offers some of the more important features, and it won’t break the bank. Despite the fact that it doesn’t have all the gimmicks that expensive monitors offer, it still offers a positive experience. Dell had to make some compromises because of the low price, but it still delivered what most gamers were asking. Low response time, amazing input lag, and G-sync are the most important features on a gaming monitor. But, they made some cut-backs on HDR Support and the TN panel that they’re using offers very poor viewing angles and very bad contrast ratio.

For the price, though, the Dell is the best budget 1440p 144Hz monitor. We’d recommend it for anybody who has a lower budget to splash on a monitor.

7. LG 27GL83A-B

If you are in the market for something bigger than the 24 inches that the Dell offers, then we would recommend you to prepare a bit more cash to splash on a monitor. The LG27GL83A-B is a good alternative despite the fact that it doesn’t offer nearly as good ergonomics and reflection handling as the Dell. But, you get more screen real estate, a bit better viewing angles than the dell, and it supports HDR.

The low input lag and the support of FreeSync are also good features because you get nearly tear-free gaming experience. You also get a wide color gamut and pretty accurate colors without any tweaking. The black uniformity and the contrast ratio are not that good, though, but given the fact that it uses an IPS panel, you should already expect this.

If you don’t need the extra real estate and you are on a set budget that is exceeded by this monitor, then surely get the Dell.
